Mount Dobson is especially well suited to families, beginners and intermediates, but high above the groomed slopes there's amazing soft smooth powder to challenge the best skiers and boarders.

So easy to get to

Just off the Christchurch to Queenstown highway, Mount Dobson is a short 40 minute scenic drive from Fairlie on a wide smooth mountain road, arguably the easiest alpine road in New Zealand. There's plenty of level parking at the Base Facility, and shuttle transport is available weekends and holidays.

Unsurpassed View, Untracked Slopes

Climb to the peak of Mount Dobson for spectacular views over Lakes Tekapo and Pukaki, and across to Mt Cook and Mt Tasman, New Zealand's highest peaks, before challenging yourself for an off piste ride over untracked snow down to the groomed trails.

Learning to Ski & Snowboard is Easy

This is where you'll find the largest learner's area in New Zealand making it ideal for beginners to enjoy learning in a pleasant, relaxed environment with plenty of room and no crowds.

Qualified instructors offer group or private lessons for all skiing and snowboarding levels with instruction also available for the disabled.

Equipment Rental

There's a good range of quality skis, boots and poles for hire and with increased popularity of snowboarding, additional boards and boots are now available for hire. We also offer a limited stock of new carving skis - come and give them a try for a special experience.
